My new fav sushi place
Found this place on a whim and decided to try... WOW!! Awesome sushi... Fresh and flavorful. My boyfriend even ordered non sushi and had a great meal. Nice portions. Good prices. Relatively quiet which was surprising bc the food and service was excellent. Highly recommended. They deliver to TriBeCa which is a plus too.

Simply THE best
Yawa is perfection between rice and seaweed. The manager exemplifies care, attentiveness, and respect for his patrons consistently. He is the best manager I've ever interacted with in ANY restaurant. Yawa is the superb in every way possible. You'd be hard pressed to come up with something otherwise. Heaven between rice and seafood. Staff like angels.

Amazing Sushi!
IMHO This unassuming, reasonably priced place turns out some of the freshest and best sushi around. Try the Special Sushi or Special Sashimi dinners to see what I mean. Nice presentation, awesome fish. The overall dining experience and atmosphere could use some work. They are always playing horrible music, service can be a little pokey, place is cavelike and almost always nearly empty. Get it delivered or to go and you won't be sorry.

Average Noodles
This is the second time I've ordered their Chicken Yaki Udon, the second time it turned up pretty quickly and good value for money but also the second time it was really bland. Maybe I should stick to their sushi.

The Chilean Seabass roll is seriously one of the best things I have ever eaten. The fish is all so fresh and yummy. I only order from here now.

surprisingly amazing
i work in the area and was craving sushi one day and happened across a menu and took a chance with ordering. well, wow. i was astounded by the upstanding quality and freshness. the sashimi lunch special is a great deal. i just ordered this for lunch now, actually. caveat: the age dash tofu is kind of bland, missing bonito flakes or something. don't bother with that. just focus on the sushi/sashimi!

Highly recommend!
In a constant search for good sushi restaurants in Manhattan, we followed some MenuPages reviewers’ recommendations for a place open late not far from Union Square. Sushi Yawa, while pretty empty on a Friday night at 10pm, was awesome. Great food, quality, value, terrific service, and décor. The pan-fried gyoza were awesome; the sushi was flavorful and fresh without being ultra fishy. Highly recommend!
