New favourite sushi place in NYC
My friends and I absolutely LOVED this place. The food is great, service incredible and the decor is amazingly tasteful. Even the bathroom was jaw droppingly beautiful. Great location and good prices. I can't say enough good things about this place!

Awesome sushi
Love this place. Its the best- clean, beautiful atmosphere, delicious food. especially the sweet potato tempura rolls. unique, fresh, fresh dishes. I highly recommend it.

Surprisingly Good
I live in the neighborhood and have passed this place a number of times. I recently tried it out and was pleasantly surprised. I went back again and had another great experience. The fish is fresh, great option for rolls and appetizers, and frined staff. I will definitely keep going back.

Delicious sushi - neighborhood staple
Finally some great and affordable sushi in a much needed location. They have a huge menu with a lot of options, specials, and they also offer suggestions as well which are spot on. The atmosphere is really nice, clean, modern yet cozy. The staff is very warm, welcoming and knowledgement.

Great Sushi - Great Price - Great Place
I live on the same street as Yawa and just recently gave it a chance. I was really impressed. The quality of the food was fantastic - I can't say enough about how good it was. And it's not expensive - it's a great value. The service was very, maybe a little over, attentive, but it was pretty empty, so that may explain their eagerness. The restaurant has a great atmosphere that made the whole experience really enjoyable. Overall, I'll definitely be going back and would highly recommend it.

give it a chance
My fiance and I live on lower 5th Ave and have eaten here once a week (4 times) since it opened in early December. It has quickly become our go-to sushi place in the neighborhood. The sushi is very high-quality, the special rolls unique, apps are interesting and I even liked the chicken teriyaki I got one night when I wasn't feeling great. The place would have a cool, loungy feel if there were only more people eating there. People in the neighborhood should give the place a chance considering it is 10 times better than Japonica (which is also overpriced considering its low quality) and it is a good replacement sushi restaurant for old patrons Zutto that is no longer on Greenwich Ave.

Superb family meal out
Really, really great food. Superb choices for the experienced, simple choices for the first-timers. And the raw fish is served at room-temperature, not fridge temp, so the flavours are richer. Even lo-salt soy sauce. The decor is warm and understated and the manager attentive and friendly. Only open 2 weeks, and already doing well. Our second evening meal out in New York - we went on Christmas day.
